Montpellier, the gifted city (France)

After returning from Istanbul, I took the train to Montpellier where I stayed 3 days.

I took the train at Gare de Lyon on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 2:14 pm and arrived at Gare Montpellier Saint-Roch at 5:41 pm.

The return journey took place on Thursday 22 September at 10:20 am and arrived at 1:51 pm in Paris.

Day 1

Once in Montpellier, before heading to my hotel located about 20 minutes walk from the train station, I stop in front of the Rockstore, a special concert hall because a Cadillac is built into its façade.

I checked in at the hotel and then went out for a walk around the city.

I went to the Place de la Comédie where the Opera Comédie and the Fountain of Three Graces are located.

I then passed by the Tour de la Babotte and then in the Quartier de l’Ancien Courrier which I particularly loved with its alleys all prettier than the other.

Leaving this area, I was able to see the Arc de Triomphe of Montpellier located right next to the beautiful Law Court.

I turned back to the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre, the Place de la Canourgue and the Church of Saint-Roch.

Then I went back to the hotel.

Day 2

On the second day, I went back in front of the Arc de Triomphe of Montpellier and then near the Aqueduct of Saint-Clément.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t take a picture of the Promenade du Peyrou because an event was taking place there, so I had to settle for the Place Royale du Peyrou.

I continued my walk to places already visited the day before that took me to the Place Jean Jaurès, the Place des Martyrs-de-la-Résistance or the Prefecture of Montpellier Herault.

I then joined the Antigone and the Place de Thessalie to the Esplanade de l’Europe near the Hôtel de Région.

This walk led me to the Arbre Blanc (white tree) a very special building with a great restaurant on the top floor of the building.

I turned back to Place Saint-Roch and continued my walk.

I loved Montpellier which is a very lively and student city.

The city is lively at any time of the day, especially in the evening when locals go out for a drink in the city’s many bars and restaurants.

It is a city where it is good to live because of its liveliness and climate.
