Stopover in Luxembourg

After Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Belgium, my holiday ends in Luxembourg where I went with my cousin.

Our booking was for 2 days, from Monday 30th to Tuesday 31st May 2022.

We took the train at Gare de l’Est on Monday 30 May at 10. 10 am and arrived in Luxembourg at 12. 20 pm.

Day 1

Our hotel was located a 5-minute walk from the Gare Luxembourg, which was convenient.
After checking in, we walked around the city to Notre-Dame Cathedral and then went to lunch at the Brasserie du Cercle to taste some Luxembourg specialities.

Right next to the restaurant is Kaempff-Kohler where we bought macaroons that we enjoyed on the terrace.

We continued our walk: Grand Ducal Palace (where we were able to witness the changing of the Guard), St-Michael Church then chemin de la Corniche.

We had a drink at Restaurant La Fontaine and then headed to the Nepalese restaurant Sherpa to have dinner before returning to the hotel by passing the Sacred Heart Church.

I didn’t think Luxembourg was worth a visit because the tour of the city is really quick and the architecture is not exceptional unlike Sweden or Denmark where I had stars in my eyes. My cousin agreed with me, too. One day was amply enough, we could even have done the round trip during the day.
