Ah, May! My favorite month! What's better than 2 bank holidays in the same week to go on holidays? In december 2017, with my friend Jenny, we decided to go on holidays together on May. We went for La Rochelle.
On May, 6th in the afternoon, I went to the Gare Montparnasse to go to La Rochelle. Jenny took her train from Bordeaux and arrived with the train after mine.
The trip from Paris to La Rochelle took 2h40. I got lucky because the guy who was driving the train was the famous driver imitating French presidents voices. Everytime he made an announce, he imated a president. We got Chirac, Sarkozy, Giscard and other presidents I didn't know.

Day 1
This time, we booked an appart-hotel, really practical to cook. It was 10 minutes from the railway station and 15 minutes from the city center. We left our luggage in our bedroom, we get some rest and we walked in the town.
Day 2
The second day, we strolled in the city center and we did some shopping. I needed some clothes and a bag because we wanted to go dancing on Tuesday night. We also jumped ahead and took a ride on the Ferris Wheel. It was a pretty good idea because the view from overthere was wonderful!
In the afternoon, we had some snacks at the Café de La Paix.
At night, we went dancing at the Piano Pub, a really nice bar that Valérie, a friend of mine who knows La Rochelle very well, told us about.

Day 5
The fifth day, we went to the Île de Ré. We took a bus and get down in Saint-Martin-de-Ré village. The trip took 1h by bus.We rented bikes to visit the isle. We also went to a flea market.
At the end of the afternoon, we ate some pancakes but they were disgusting. It was as if they were not fresh but reheated in the microwaves. It was kind of a hoax! Jenny's pancake had chocolate but it was not hot, it was so thick! Fortunately, the cider was good. It wasn't too difficult because it came from a bottle! Loïc Raison cider.
Day 6
The sixth day, we had lunch in the port: fish burger and french fries, then we did shopping again. Valérie, a friend from Paris who came to La Rochelle the night after, joined us. Thanks to her, we ate excellent icecreams from Ernest. There are nice flavors such as rose, violet or cannelé and many more.At night, we went back to the Piano Pub with Valérie where we had so much fun. With Valérie, we sang the song Comme des Connards, memorable!
There were too many guys trying to flirt with us, so annoying!
On the way back, we left Valérie. Other guys on the road tried to flirt with us again, they were weird, but we safely reached our hotel (and her father's house as for Valérie) ; we were a little scared.
Day 7
Last day for us at La Rochelle, I needed to go back to Paris and Jenny to Bordeaux. We had difficulties waking up because the day before we danced and went back home at 4am. We went to bed at 5am and woke up at 9am to leave the hotel. We'll go back to La Rochelle, especially for the Piano Pub that we really enjoyed.
